While many people dream of holidays to exotic locations more and more Brits are spending summer in the UK.
With the rise in plane tickets and Brexit making it harder to jet off to European destinations people are packing their bags and hitting the road in motorhomes in search of a more traditional summer holiday.
Brit Stops spoke to the ECHO about the best routes to take and what advice they have for setting off in a motorhome or campervan for an affordable summer road trip.

Tom Clark from Brit Stops said: “I think people in the UK are planning more domestic trips with motorhomes for a number of reasons. Brexit has played a part in holidays becoming more expensive and inconvenient to go somewhere like Germany or France.
“I think the other factor is the cost of flights and the cost of living. Domestic holidays in a motorhome are cheaper than flying off around the globe somewhere.”
Brit Stops is a motorhome and campervan network where travellers park overnight at more than 1,100 locations across the UK for free. Tom said there has also been a surge in motorhome holidays in Mersesyside with The Cottage Loaf Inn in Wirral and The Pheasant Pub and Restaurant in Hightown, both popular tourist stops.
Tom said: “The best thing is not to plan too much and get on the road with a few places in mind. Talk to locals, go to rural pubs, and see what people in the area recommend.
“In the UK summer popular spots tend to be around the coast and we have seen lots of people head over to Ireland. It definitely is a family fun holiday and is cheaper than flying somewhere.”
