A statement from Bristol TX reads: “In the early hours of Thursday 29th September, Bristol Tyre Extinguishers deflated the tyres of 43 SUVs around the affluent areas of Westbury Park and Redland in Bristol.
“This makes a total of 449 SUVs disarmed across the city since March 2022.”
Chris, 26, said: “SUVs are marketed as safe, but they put all other road users in danger. Plus they are totally pointless in cities, it’s tarmacked roads with speed limits of 30mph, you don’t need a SUV when you’re driving to Tesco.”
“The Tyre Extinguishers want to see bans on SUVs in urban areas, pollution levies to tax SUVs out of existence, and massive investment in free, comprehensive public transport. But until politicians make this a reality, Tyre Extinguishers action will continue.”
