Bradley Walsh was left embarrassed as he made a huge blunder on ITV's Beat The Chasers tonight.
The Chase star was chatting with one of this show's hopefuls - who was desperate to beat the six brilliant brains on the ITV show tonight - but as Bradley introduced her, he made a geographical blunder.
The popular quiz show is back for a week of special episodes, where contestants will have the opportunity to take on up to six Chasers at a time and win some huge sums of money.
As Pam joined him on stage, it was revealed she had travelled to the show from Peterlee, a town in County Durham, but Bradley was left red-faced as he made an error.
"You're from Peterlee, that's in Hampshire," he told the contestant, who was quick to correct him.
She replied: "Close, County Durham," leaving everyone laughing in the studio as Bradley realised his mistake.
"Oh I'm thinking Petersfield," he told her, "That's in Hampshire!"
He then insisted it would all be edited out, as he repeated the conversation - this time with the right locations.
"So where are you from? Peterlee, County Durham!" he said, as those in the studio - including some of The Chasers - burst into laughter at the hysterical skit before Pam got on with the show.
Unfortunately, she was unable to secure a correct answer and quickly crashed out of the competition.
Elsewhere, Australian Chaser Issa Schultz stepped in for Anne Hegerty, The Governess, who was not on the show tonight.
The show was filmed back in March and she was forced to miss filming after contracting Covid, with her sharing at the time: "Unfortunately I’ve contracted Covid-19 so won’t be filming this series of #BeatTheChasers. The fantastic @Issa25 will be stepping in for me and I’m looking forward to watching the series when it’s on air later this year. I feel fine, but I’m still positive! (in all respects)."
Issa explained he made a beeline to the UK when he was asked to do the show.
"I got a last-minute call to step into The Governess’s cold and chilly shoes. What a delight. It was close to 1am Brisbane time - I’m a night owl and my Australian boss said to the UK bosses: ‘Just call him, he’ll be up,'" he shared, "And then I was on the plane, I think it was close to 9am that very morning. As they say, the show must go on! I’d be foolish not to do it."
*Beat The Chasers continues on Tuesday night on ITV at 9pm.
