'Botched fat dissolving injections left me with a wonky face and I passed out'

A woman says she was left with a wonky face after botched fat dissolving injections.

Amra Ahad, 24, from Leeds, claims she was left 'wonky' for four months after the cosmetic procedure to her neck and chin.

Struggling to afford them, she finally decided to go for it after finding a woman who charged just £100 as opposed to £450 per session.

Now telecommunications manager Amra says she still doesn't feel like her face and neck are 100 per cent back to normal, with lumps on her neck still.

Amra says she even passed out during the ordeal and it 'shattered' her passion for makeup as she opted to stay inside again.

Amra, who claims she was left wonky for four months, said: "I knew a nurse who offered fat dissolving injections, I decided to book in with her as she was cheaper than most.

"When I decided to go for it, she came to my house, she straight away started injecting into my neck and under my chin which was a concern as I was under the impression the areas getting injected were usually marked out prior to the procedure.

"After the third injection I started feeling nauseous and she told me to get rest after she was finished but I suddenly blacked out for about a minute soon after.

"When I woke up I could tell she was panicking but she told me this was normal.

"It was the next morning when I woke up and the swelling had made my face wonky.

"I was laughing but it was very distressing that when I spoke my face bent. I had to go to work the next day and host meetings.

"People noticed it straight away, I just avoided trying to speak but with my job I had no choice so I had to explain the procedure I had gone wrong and that’s why my face is now wonky.

"It made me not want to leave the house and on days off would stay inside. It destroyed my confidence.

"It shattered my passion for doing my makeup, I just thought my face was doomed and thought it was my look for the rest of my life

"It was like a nightmare so I was so happy when it was going down.

"Still to this day if I lift my neck it droops on the left side and the left side of my face can droop when I'm smiling as well, like there is something in my neck.

"It isn’t painful anymore but if I press on it hard there is tenderness and it has been two years. It's nothing like the pain I had before but at least the swelling has gone down and the fat has been dissolved.

"It is horrifying and the scariest part is that I passed out and I learnt this can happen when you're over injected, especially in your neck as you could suffocate or choke.

Amra decided to get the fat dissolving injections as she was conscious of the fat underneath her chin and neck.

Amra adds: "I have lip, jaw and cheek injections anyway every six to nine months and nothing has ever gone wrong.

"When I met the nurse she seemed nervous but I know it's my fault and I signed the form for the procedure so I take full responsibility for opting to go with her but you just don’t think this would happen.

"I take full accountability for it all but I want to raise awareness that these things can go wrong.

"I would get fat dissolving injections again, but this time from an experienced practitioner."
