According to The Daily Record a neighbour, who saw six forensic officers removing boxes from the flat said he hadn't seen his neighbour in months.

The neighbour told the Record: "I hadn't seen him for six months and I've not seen the guy who lets the property for around three months.

"The police were there from 6pm and caused a traffic jam and they were there until around 5am the next morning.

"I've got an ex-partner and kids and I'm just sitting here thinking 'is that going to be me one day?'"

Officers carried out door-to-door enquiries at the scene.
