Bob Dylan has swapped Visions of Johanna for visions of the cobbles as he admits he binge-watches Coronation Street.
The Times They Are A-changin’ but not the TV channel for the iconic US singer who revealed the soap is among his viewing favourites.
In a wide-ranging interview with The Wall Street Journal, 81-year-old Dylan spoke about technology, social media and songwriting, as well as his TV habits.
The singer is also partial to TV detective drama Father Brown and old Twilight Zone episodes.
He said: “Two or three hours in front of the tube is a lot of binge-watching for me. Too much time to be involved with the screen. Or maybe I’m too old for it.
“I’ve binge-watched Coronation Street, Father Brown, and early Twilight Zones. I know they’re old-fashioned shows, but they make me feel at home.
“I’m a religious person. I read the scriptures a lot, meditate and pray, light candles in church. I believe in damnation and salvation.”
Dylan also name-checked a bunch of contemporary musicians he likes including Brit stars Oasis, Alex Turner and Rag ’n’ Bone Man.
The Nobel prize winner for literature added: “Anybody with a feeling for words and language, anybody whose vision parallels mine.”
