A young man is fighting for his life after a double stabbing in London saw blood smeared across a parked Mercedes.
Police swarmed East Ferry Road in the Isle of Dogs late last night, with photos from the scene showing blood splattered across pavements and rubbish strewn across the street.
A Mercedes, which is surrounded by red police tape strapped to surrounding trees, has blood on the bonnet, while a first aid kit and latex gloves have also been discarded next to the vehicle.
A 23-year-old man was found with stab injuries and was taken to hospital where he remains in a life threatening condition.
While at the scene, Met Police officers found a second man with stab injuries on Limeharbour.
He was also taken to hospital and police are waiting for an update on his condition.
A huge cordon remains in place today and enquiries are ongoing into the incident.
A Met Police spokesperson confirmed no arrests have been made so far.
An anonymous local resident, who claims to have witnessed the incident, told MyLondon: “I was waking home when I saw two police cars in front of the bar [Aurora Lounge] and a policeman trying to save a person lying on the floor.
"I first thought it was a bar fight, as sometimes they happen there. [I was] trying to go around them, and saw his friend covered full in blood, and then the policeman taking the clothes of the guy that was on the floor.
"Because I live next door I wanted to go home [...] Trying to go around, we realised it was not a bar fight as the whole street was covered in blood and knives were left.”
They added: "Also currently there are still red tapes around the scene, but they took the knifes. Also two phones are still on the ground even though they were ringing the whole night [...] We usually don’t have too much of an issue with a crime around here, but it has been getting worse.
"Our neighbour saw the whole thing, and he said they were running with machetes [...] That would mean them coming from the Roffey Street to the Limeharbour."
