A man who has embarked on a body modification project to become a ‘Black Alien’ has opened up about the dark side of his extreme transformation, which has left him struggling for work. Anthony Loffredo is unmissable in a crowd, being covered head to toe in dark tattoos and sporting various implants and modifications, including a split tongue and inked eyeballs, Daily Star reports.
The Frenchman started creating his reptilian look at the age of 27, and in the space of seven years, he has managed to garner 1.2 million Instagram followers. Now, despite contemplating even more surgeries and body modifications, the tattoo addict warned others against following in his footsteps.
“This type of change, it’s not just a tattoo, it’s something bigger,” he stressed, while speaking on the Club 113 podcast. “With my family, I can’t find a job, there’s lots of negative stuff. It could be positive because you feel better, but you have to know there’s also a dark side.”
In another part of the podcast episode, the Frenchman described how people will even cross the street to avoid him, and the Anthony admitted that many don’t understand his project.
He said: “It’s a fight everyday, because everyday you find new people who don’t understand, who want to judge. It’s life, not everyone understands everything.
"Like me, I don’t understand lots of things about lots of people. You can’t judge someone, no one knows what’s inside someone’s head, why they’re doing that, you need to talk with this person.”
To achieve his extraterrestrial image, Anthony has had two fingers on his left hand amputated, as well as his ears, and has over 40 implants in his head. But, despite his radical look, the art enthusiast stressed that he wants to be treated like everyone else.
He emphasised: “I’m a normal guy, I work, I have a family… I like being looked at like a normal guy with a job, with a family, who has a friend, girlfriend, all of that. That’s what makes me normal.”
