A unique house on the market for £1.93 million has gone viral online with one user making a crude joke over the fireplace.
Located in Ancram, New York, the 2,500 square feet house is the epitome of modern day architecture, although many people were quick to comment on the design after it was posted on social media.
Its slanted exterior boasts two elongated dimensions – the smaller one being 'sleeved' inside the larger one, which led to its name of ‘Sleeve House’.
Painted black, the design contrasts with the lush forests and 46 acres of greenery surrounding it.
There are two distinct elements to the interior, with each area suiting a range of tastes.
The first space, which is located between the inner and outer volume, is engulfed in concrete and charred wood, its primary material.
Along with heated flooring and a suspended wood-burning fireplace, this particular element to the home certainly carries a modern day appeal.
However, if the 21st century aura isn't for you, the second interior space holds a more intimate appeal.
This part of the house comes with three bedrooms and two baths – with kinder materials such as carpet and sheet rocked walls.
Each bedroom also comes with its own personal balcony which are found at either end of the vast home.
Built by a master craftsmen, the unusual home is set to last for centuries with sustainable materials such as Accoya wood and triple-paned glass being used throughout.
However, despite being a vast property, many people online have been quick to judge its unusual appearance after pictures of it were shared on Facebook, racking up more than 5,000 likes.
One user said: "This is absolutely a villian's lair in some movie - I expect minions to pour out of it at any moment.”
Another person wrote: "It would help if that fireplace didn't remind me of macropod testicles.”
"All any living room needs are concrete slabs with a couple throw pillows. Perfect for snuggling and watching a movie with your cell mate," another viewer said.
Someone else said: "This entire house is a trip-hazard - my shins are bruised just looking at the pictures with the knowledge that I would absolutely trip on a useless concrete ledge in this house every day regardless of my sober or not-sober status.”
“The outside looks like that just in case there is a zombie apocalypse,” someone else added.
"Feels like a jail cell with those bars. Well maybe a cell in wonderland with the diagonal slant," added another user.
The property is currently available with Four Season’s Sotheby’s International Realty for $2,275,000.
