The Embassy of France celebrates the launch of its new cultural programme "Sawasdee France" with an open house at the residence of the French ambassador, Charoen Krung 36, on Saturday from 2-8pm.
The programme aims to promote Franco-Thai friendship through arts, food, culture, science, education and language -- in other words, everywhere France and Thailand meet.
Within a space designed for exchange and interaction, the event will make for an immersive visit and chance for participants to experience all facets of French-Thai relations.
Visitors can expect a day packed with many activities starting with a free guided tour of the residence of the French ambassador. There will be a live cooking show by Dusit Thani College, with free French food and drinks served; a showcase of art installations by contemporary creators; and a science and innovation corner with AR and VR experiences.
Open-house guests will further enjoy "Learn & Teach French" games that are not only fun but also can help kickstart careers requiring French-language proficiency. For those wishing to study in France, the event likewise is a chance to meet with alumni from the embassy's scholarship programmes.
Other activities include "Meet The Diplomats" session, coffee break at French-language cafe and open-air cinema viewing in the evening. There is no admission fee but seats are limited. Reservations can be made via sawasdeefrancelaunch.eventbrite.com.
