Bears rookie Jaquan Brisker has been making a strong impression throughout training camp. Now, he’s ready to leave the practice field behind and finally take to Soldier Field for his first NFL (preseason) action.
The Bears are hosting the Chiefs in their preseason opener, and Brisker is itching to get on the field. While the pads have been on in training camp, there’s something different about live action for a physical safety like Brisker.
“I’m looking forward to it a lot,” he said. “Just playing in the Bears stadium, Soldier Field, just getting that first feeling out. Just want to hit someone, really.”
Brisker has earned a reputation as a ballhawk this summer — actually since he first arrived in Chicago. Now, Brisker is looking to make an immediate impact by snagging a takeaway in his first NFL game.
“Probably get a turnover immediately,” Brisker said of his debut goal. “But just show that I know my plays and that I am still the same from practice to the game.”
If Brisker’s live action is anything like his practices, this rookie could be a huge problem for opposing offenses — starting Saturday.
