Bears GM Ryan Poles attending Penn State-Northwestern game

We’re just four weeks into the 2023 NFL season, but a lot of Chicago Bears fans are already looking ahead to the offseason — most notably, the 2024 NFL draft.

The Bears will have two first-round picks in the 2024 draft — their own and the Carolina Panthers’ selection. Right now, those are Nos. 1 and 4. And there’s a good chance they could be Nos. 1 and 2 after Sunday’s NFL action.

Bears general manager Ryan Poles is getting a head start of his NFL draft evaluation, as he’s attending Saturday’s game between Penn State and Northwestern in Evanston, Ill.

He was spotted representing former Penn State and current Bears safety Jaquan Brisker.

There are plenty of Penn State prospects for Poles to take in, including most notably offensive tackle Olu Fashanu and edge rusher Chop Robinson.

Fashanu is highly regarded as one of the top offensive tackles in this upcoming 2024 draft class, and many expect him to be a top-five selection. Through four games, Fashanu (120 snaps) hasn’t allowed a pressure or sack this season, according to ESPN’s Jordan Reid.

Robinson, while not the marquee name in this game, is also expected to climb draft boards this year. Robinson brings explosiveness and speed off the edge, something Chicago desperately needs.
