BBC Dragons' Den hopeful fluffs up pitch but has the entrepreneurs fighting over him

It can be nerve-wracking pitching a business idea to anyone, let alone the stern dragons on BBC One's Dragons' Den. Business hopeful David brought his idea to the dragons and despite having a nightmare pitch still managed to impress them.

Entering the den with his twist on classic board games, David halted mid-pitch when he struggled to remember his figures. After the long pause the Dragons began asking questions and prompting him with his pitch. You can keep up to date with the latest TV and showbiz news by signing up to the newsletter here.

After explaining his folding board games made of paper are completely recyclable, David lost his train of thought and there was a lengthy pause. Dragon, Deborah Meaden, said: "Do you want to tell us how much you want and what percentage? And if you are struggling why don't we ask you the questions?"

David then fumbled over his words and managed to tell the Dragons, after telling them at first he wanted 40%, that he would like £40,000 for 20% equity and apologised for messing up. He said: "I feel like I let myself down a bit with that pitch" and Dragon Peter Jones guessed correctly it was nerves that caused the mistake.

Although his pitch did not run smoothly David was still able to impress the Dragons. Peter said the concept was "bloody brilliant" and that he was "absolutely, genuinely blown away" and also said the product was "exceptional".

Peter was first to offer David a deal, offering him exactly what he asked for which was all the money for 20% of the business. Despite Peter being eager for David to accept his offer straight away, David wanted to hear what the other Dragons could offer.

Touker Suleyman matched Peter's offer while Deborah made David an even better offer of all of the money for just 15% of the business. Sara Davies also matched Deborah's offer leaving David with some thinking to do. Steven Bartlett was the only Dragon to not offer an investment but did say he thinks Sara will be the best Dragon to invest in.

In the end, after some compromising and discussions, David managed to strike a deal where both Peter and Touker invested and got 10% of his company each. Dragons' Den airs every Thursday at 8pm on BBC One.
