Aldi fans have praised the supermarket for having the best Christmas advert this year - the only problem is the festive ad has not been released yet. The supermarket has unveiled an exciting teaser for its highly-anticipated Christmas ad, which will soon be revealed.
But the short clip, which features Kevin the Carrot, has proven so popular with shoppers many thought it was the real thing. In the new 50-second video, Kevin and his family are getting ready to jet off to Paris for a Christmas break, when the devoted dad grumbles about an upcoming 'football tournament in December'.
In a cheeky twist, a number of famous footballers, or rather famous footballers reimagined as vegetables, then emerge, before enjoying a kickabout around the airport.
The one-of a-kind match, which includes players like 'Ronaldi', 'MmmBap', 'Macarooney', and 'Beth Swede' has delighted sports fans. But the video, which pays tribute to the iconic 1998 Nike World Cup Advert, has also gone down a treat with movie fans.
Among the confusion, Kevin misses his flight to Paris - meaning he may have to spend Christmas Home Alone. So impressed were some viewers they mistook the teaser for the official Christmas advert.
Reacting to the clip online, one fan wrote: "Bravo Aldi this has to the best Christmas advert of the year". A second added: "Omg THE BEST ONE so far...." And a third thought: "Best Xmas advert of all time."
But another said: "Please tell me that was not your 2022 Christmas ad? Please?" And when another commenter pointed out the video is a teaser clip, the excited Christmas lover replied: "Are we predicting that Home Alone will be the real Christmas ad?"
While the answer remains to be seen, it is clear shoppers have high expectations after seeing the video Sharing more praise for the football-themed clip, someone wrote: "Oh my God you never fail!!!! Amazing." Another agreed: "Simply sensational." And a different commenter said: "This is brilliant. This should be the advert."
