An Ayrshire restaurant has performed a stunning U-turn on its plans to shut for good - hours after announcing they planned to close.
Earlier this evening, Chef's World Buffet in Dundonald devastated foodies by announcing they were closing this Sunday due to a combination of reduced footfall and the crippling costs of energy and soaring food prices.
However, the statement was removed within an hour of it being posted on their Facebook page.
Ayrshire Live verified the news with the restaurant and was told they would be pulling down the shutters for the final time this weekend.
But the Main Street venue baffled customers by releasing a further statement telling them to disregard the earlier post and that the restaurant would be remaining open.
The initial photo from earlier this evening read: "We are so sorry to tell you that our business is no longer viable and we cannot sustain the running costs due to a massive increase in food, energy prices and reduced footfall.
"Please contact us to arrange Christmas refund deposits.
"We thank you all so much for your custom and support and we will miss you all very much."
The post itself said: "We will be closing the buffet for the foreseeable as of this Sunday evening (November 6).
"We are very sorry and thank each and everyone for your support; however we cannot sustain the business with rising costs.
"Please contact us to arrange refunds of Christmas deposits.
"A very sad day indeed. Thank you."
But two hours later, the restaurant apologised and backtracked on the plans to close.
The post read: "Our sincerest apologies, we will continue to open the restaurant and are still taking bookings for this Christmas.
"Please disregard the last post.
"We are OPEN FOR BUSINESS! Please share!"
