Asda, Waitrose and Morrisons issued a warning to customers to check their cupboards, fridges and freezer after recalling items such as a pasta bake due to a contamination risk. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) regularly publishes all you need to know about why a recall has been ordered, and how to go about claiming your money back.
You don't need a receipt to claim a refund, but can simply take the item to your nearest store. Sardines are also a popular item which you may need to check on, as seen in Derbyshire Live.
Recalls can happen for any reason including undeclared allergens, incorrect ingredient lists or the presence of microbiological risks, such as salmonella. It is vital you check your kitchens to ensure you don't eat the affected items.

Asda Italian Inspired Chicken and Bacon Pasta Bake
Asda is recalling Asda Italian Inspired Chicken and Bacon Pasta Bake because it contains mustard, which is not mentioned on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to mustard.
- Pack size: 400 g and 800 g
- Use-by dates: July 29, 2022, and July 30, 2022
While the use-by dates have now expired, you may have left it in the fridge for too long in error or have it in your freezer, so it's always best to check. Asda has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall, and issued a point-of-sale notice to customers which explains the reasons behind the recall and what to do if they have bought the product.
Anyone who has the item should return it to the store. They can then claim a full refund.
