Asda shoppers are raving over an item from the supermarket's homeware range that has them ditching the kettle and saving that bit extra energy.
With the cost of living still increasing and energy prices remaining a concern, many of us will be looking for ways to reduce our reliance on some household appliance that might rack up our bills.
And while the kettle might not be the most costly appliance, consistent boiling, or overfilling to more than you actually need, can add that bit extra cost onto your monthly bill. Which is exactly why Asda's George Home 1.5L Hot Water Dispenser has gained a bit of attention from shoppers on social media recently, with some shoppers saying that it saves them electricity.
As we all know, overfilling your kettle can lead to longer boiling times, meaning that bit more pennies will be spent. And, with the new price cap, a full kettle can cost around 8p, compared to just 2p for two cups, so it is definitely worth a saving if you are a bit of a brew addict.
The supermarket chain's Hot Water Dispenser costs just £32 and it is said to help households boil one 250ml cup of water in just 65 seconds - meaning less usage on electricity is being used in your home.
One shopper shared the nifty appliance to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Group on Facebook recently, where it quickly gained the attention of other households looking to save on energy.
"With the current cost of living crisis and concerns surrounding energy prices, many homeowners will be looking for ways they can reduce their reliance on household appliances such as the kettle.
While it may not be the most expensive appliance to run, rising bills may force a few of us to try and cut back on our energy usage as a means of keeping our electricity costs that bit lower", raved one shopper.
"Had mine for years, wouldn't want to go back to using a kettle", exclaimed a second.
"Cheaper than a kettle", commented a third.
"We have a Breville one but this looks fab it's so much quicker and uses a lot less electric when compare using this on a smart meter to waiting for a kettle to boil.. it's actually shocking how much it uses boiling a kettle", replied a fourth.
And the Hot Water Dispenser is not only good for cutting back on your energy usage, as many shoppers commented that it is perfect for anyone who suffers health conditions that may make it difficult for them to lift a kettle.
"Thanks for posting Been disabled I can’t lift kettle this is ideal will also get my mum one as she’s got problems with lifting kettle due to her illness", said one happy shopper.
"This is perfect gift idea for those who can't lift a kettle! Will be looking at getting one for my mum who has arthritis in fingers and bad shoulder", agreed a second.
Asda's George Home 1.5L Hot Water Dispenser is priced at £32 and available to buy online and in-stores. Stock in stores may vary.
