Major supermarkets are recalling some of their most popular products due to safety concerns. Customers are advised to return items to the store in exchange for a refund.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has issued a number of alerts for a range of goods including, lager, soup, takeaway curry and a number of Kinder products.
Product recalls are issued when there may be a problem with a food product that means it should not be sold. Sometimes goods have to be withdrawn or recalled if there is a risk to consumers because the allergy labelling is missing or incorrect or if there is any other food allergy risk. When there is a food allergy risk, the FSA will issue an Allergy Alert.

Tesco Soup
Tesco is recalling Tesco Chicken and Vegetable cup soup with croutons because it may contain small pieces of metal. The possibility makes this product unsafe to eat.

Tesco digestive biscuits
Tesco is recalling Tesco Free From Digestive Biscuits because they may contain small pieces of metal which makes it unsafe to eat.

Lidl lager
Lidl GB is recalling Starovice Czech Lager 5.0% because it contains sulphur dioxide which is not mentioned on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with a sensitivity to sulphur dioxide and/or sulphites.

Kinder products
Ferrero is extending its precautionary recall of a selection of European labelled Kinder products manufactured at the Arlon factory in Belgium, which might be contaminated with Salmonella. Investigations have found that some products, intended for the European market only and which have already been recalled by Ferrero in Europe, have been imported into the UK by UK importers not linked to Ferrero.

Lidl GB is recalling Alesto Californian Pistachios Roasted & Salted because salmonella has been found in the product.

Iceland Takeaway Chicken Bhuna
Iceland is recalling Iceland Takeaway Chicken Bhuna (Frozen) because it contains milk which is not declared on the label. As a result of a packaging error, some packs may contain Iceland Takeaway Creamy Butter Chicken. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.
