Amy Hart reveals how Love Island contestants wash their clothes in the villa

Amy Hart has been sharing her insider knowledge of life inside the Love Island villa and has recently revealed how the contestants manage to keep their clothes clean.

The former Islander, 30, has previously explained what the girls do if they get their period in the villa and opened up about the welfare checks contestants receive.

Taking to TikTok, Amy has now answered a fan question on what happens when Islanders need to wash their clothes.

"You put your washing in a washing bag and it goes once a week, but we wouldn’t often give our clothes to the washing," the reality star said.

Amy explained their washing had come back "all broken" in the first week and so the contestants tried to steer clear from getting their laundry done.

She said: " Amber 's bikini, she had a beautiful embellished bikini, that was all broken. Everything was the wrong colour.

" Anna sent off a really nice dress and it came back three sizes smaller, so we didn't tend to put things in the wash if we could get away with it."

Elsewhere in the video, Amy explained she was back after taking a short social media break to celebrate her milestone birthday.

Amy, who appeared on the show three years ago in 2019, has also told her TikTok followers the villa from her series had just one bathroom and Islanders can be waiting a while for their turn in the shower.

"When they say it's time to get ready, people are like ‘first, second, third, fourth’. Some of the boys do shower outside, well at least they did in my year to try and cut the queue down," she said.

"But if you were sort of seventh, eighth or ninth in the queue I used to do my hair and makeup before."

And Amy also spilled that while there was a bath Islanders could use, they often used this to store all of their "disgusting clothes after disgusting challenges" in the tub instead.

She said they would sometimes be covered in paint or food and so avoided using the bath.

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
