Fighters from Alexandria Muay Thai made a big impression at the WKA Scottish Championships in Perth, as they target Olympic qualification in 2028.
All five of the club’s fighters came home with gold medals and as Scottish champions in their weight classes.
Oscar Oswald had to move up to under nines as there was no match at his age. However he won his final against a top rated nine-year-old from Griphouse Gym in Glasgow by TKO to become Scottish WKA Muay Thai -9s champion.
Archie Price beat multiple opponents to become under-14s Scottish Kickboxing Champion.
Korab Murtezi won by first round TKO in his final to become WKA -17 Scottish Cruiserweight champ.
Dylan Sharp had to fight in a heavier weight category and won the final by KO to take the WKA Scottish Super Middleweight Muay Thai title.
Owen Irving had to face an extra fight due to an admin error and won a war to take home the WKA Scottish light-heavyweight Muay Thai title.
Coach Allan McDonald said: “Every one of the boys trained really hard and deserved no less.
“We now have five Muay Thai champions and two K1 champions ranging from five to 25-years-old at Alexandria Muay Thai.
We have a Facebook and Instagram page and anybody interested in joining should contact myself or the page.
“Our long term plan is to get kids from this area to LA to fight in the 2028 Olympics which will be the first year Muay Thai will feature as an Olympic sport.”
