Former footballer and BBC broadcaster Alex Scott has been unveiled as the face of BMW's new campaign.
Renowned for breaking barriers in sports broadcasting, Scott is now aiming to break barriers in the automotive world, which is historically shaped by male voices and traditional car reviews.
Taking on a director’s role for the Living With Electric campaign, she will provide insights and honest advice on the realities of electric vehicle (EV) ownership, which comes at a crucial time, as a recent YouGov report highlights the knowledge gap surrounding EVs, particularly among women.
Speaking about her new role, she shared: “I hold my hands up, I wasn’t sure how an electric car would fit into my busy lifestyle, given the miles I travel and common concerns about charging.
“However, as someone who supports positive cultural change, I was eager to explore the possibilities.
“The BMW iX2 has completely transformed my perspective.”
Her new role comes after the 39-year-old enjoyed a romantic getaway to Turkey with girlfriend, singer Jessie Glynne, earlier this month.
The pair shared photos of them soaking up the sun at the luxury Maxx Royal Resort in Bodrum, while also enjoying delicious dinners and even a spa treatment during their time away.
Scott and Glynne frequently show their affectionate for one another online, despite the presenter admitting she initially found it hard to express her feelings.
The BBC host previously shared that her father had forbidden her from showing emotion during her childhood, which led to her rarely hugging family members, including her brother.
Scott told The Times: “We weren’t allowed to express emotion.
“Dad didn’t allow us to hug each other or say ‘I love you’.
“It had a huge impact on us all. To this day, if I want to show people love, I’ll do it by taking them out to dinner and paying.”
Elsewhere, Scott was spotted alongside Ncuti Gatwa, Clara Amfo, Jessie J, Paloma Faith and Maisie Williams watching RAYE at O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on Monday night.
London-born singer RAYE played to an intimate crowd, who nabbed free tickets via a ballot available exclusively to O2 and Virgin Media broadband customers.
