Iceland: Greggs two-pack chicken bakes
Bakery chain Greggs is recalling some of its two-pack chicken bakes sold in Iceland Foods because the pastries might contain hard plastic. The product, which is exclusively sold in Iceland Foods, ‘may contain pieces of hard dark coloured plastic’, the company has warned. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) adds that only 306g frozen packets of the chicken bakes with a best before date of September 19, 2022, are affected.
Iceland shoppers are now being urged not to eat the product, and return it to the store. A notice from Greggs posted by the FSA on Friday (April 29) said: “This product may contain pieces of hard dark coloured plastic. If you have purchased the above product please do not consume. Please return to your nearest Iceland store for a full refund. This 2-pack product is exclusive to Iceland and therefore the recall is only applicable to product purchased from Iceland Stores. No other products, date codes or batches are affected. We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused. If you have any queries please contact Customer Care on +44 08081 473 447 or getintouch@greggs.co.uk .”
The FSA added that the plastic made the bakes ‘unsafe to eat’.

Power Factor Saver - SD001
Trading Standards said the plug-in energy-saving device presents a "serious risk" of electric shock and fire and does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.
"The plug pins were all the same length, and the earth pin is insulated and too short to operate the shutter. The live and neutral pins were also too long, and the product has weak plug pins that are liable to break off in the socket-outlet," their website states.
"The product is fitted with a large, unmarked capacitor which is fitted across the mains. Such capacitors are required to be approved and be of the X2 type, yet the capacitors fitted across the mains were not of the approved type which means there is a higher risk of these devices short-circuiting.
"The product also lacked a fuse or other protection which means that it relies on the building circuit breaker for protection. The product also claimed to have lightning or spike protection, but testing confirmed it had no components that would perform any such function."
The listing has been removed from the online marketplace eBay.
