Aldi has recalled its ready made chicken wraps over salmonella fears. The news, announced by the Food Standards Agency, said that two types of their 'Eat + Go' wraps have been pulled from the shelves because of the 'possible presence of salmonella'.
Customers who have already purchased the wraps have been asked to return them to the store. The update outlined that the supermarket's chicken and bacon caesar wrap and the chicken bacon caesar wrap triple with use by dates of 11 and 12 of May were recalled following the fears.
As a result, point of sale notices will also be displayed in all retail stores that are selling the wraps, explaining the reasons why they were being recalled and what to do if the products had already been purchased. The store apologised and confirmed refunds would be offered for those that had bought the wraps.

The notice reads: "We are recalling these products due to the possible presence of Salmonella. Customers are asked to return this product to their nearest store, where a full refund will be given. We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your co-operation."
There are 48 Aldi supermarket stores throughout Greater Manchester. As part of the 'Eat + Go' range, customers are also offered a hoisin duck wrap, southern fried chicken and halloumi and tzatziki wrap, retailing at £1.99 in stores. The Food Standards Agency warned that symptoms caused by salmonella usually include fever, diarrhoea, and abdominal cramps.
