In a game that doesn’t have any playoff implications for either team, the Cincinnati Bengals host the Cleveland Browns at 1:00 p.m. ET on Sunday to finish the regular season.
In the final game, Alan Eck will be the referee for the first time in a Bengals game this year. In his first year as a referee, he has worked 16 games and is averaging 10.1 flags thrown per game.
It is his first year being a referee, but he was an umpire for the Bengals regular season win over the Kansas City Chiefs last season in which Joe Burrow threw for 286 yards and two touchdowns with just six incompletions.
The Bengals are tied for first in the NFL with just 4.7 penalties per game while the Browns are 29th in the league with 6.8 penalties per game, though their starters won’t be on the field for much of the game their penalty frequency might not apply.
