Actress Cheng Pei-Pei, Known For Martial Arts Roles, Dies At 78

Patti Yasutake, known for her roles in Star Trek Generations and Beef, has passed away at the age of 70. She died at UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center after battling a rare form of T-cell lymphoma.

Yasutake, a Los Angeles native, had a diverse acting career that included appearances in films such as Gung Ho, The Wash, Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot, and Drop Dead Gorgeous. She gained recognition for her portrayal of Nurse Alyssa Ogawa on Star Trek: The Next Generation, appearing in 16 episodes from 1990-94 and reprising the role in Star Trek Generations and Star Trek: First Contact.

Her most recent role was on the Netflix series Beef, where she played the mother of a main character. Yasutake's talent extended beyond acting, as she also worked as a theater director, staging world premieres for various theater companies.

She was born on September 6, 1953, and graduated from UCLA with a degree in theater. Survived by her siblings Linda and Steven, a memorial will be held at East West Players, where donations in her memory can be made.
