Plans for a new 72-bedroom care home in Leicestershire could create 60 new jobs, according to the team behind them.
Tanglewood Care Homes wants to develop the scheme in Kibworth Beauchamp, near Market Harborough, which would include a cinema, hair salon, games room, quiet "wellness" lounges, a cafe and bar, as well as landscaped grounds.
Tanglewood runs 14 care homes for elderly people in Leicestershire, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire and wants to build the new facility on a two acres site off Fleckney Road, on the outskirts of the village.
A planning application has been submitted to Harborough District Council for the land which is currently unused agricultural land.
Tanglewood Care Homes said there was a need for a modern care home in the area.
A spokeswoman added that it will meet the needs of people requiring both residential care and round the clock elderly nursing care.
She said: "We currently have nine care homes across Lincolnshire and a further five developments across Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire.
“We have recently submitted an application for a 72 bed care home in Kibworth.
"When the scheme is developed it will create 60 full time jobs.
"The home will provide quality en-suite wetroom bedrooms arranged in units of 18 bedrooms across two floors.”
In a design and access statement submitted as part of the planning application, Tanglewood said that it took pride in providing "quality care in comfortable, relaxed and homely surroundings".
It said: "Tanglewood Care Homes offer a wide variety of care options - from short and long-term care, residential, nursing, physical disability to dementia care. We know that each project is as individual as its location and the needs of those who benefit from it."
"We aim to provide a happier, healthier and more fulfilling life experience for residents by upholding their rights and responding to their needs and preferences."
Harborough District Council is expected to consider the proposal in the next few months.
