There were 10 more Covid-19 fatalities and 619 new patients admitted to hospitals on Monday, the Ministry of Public Health reported on Tuesday.
This compared with 15 coronavirus-related fatalities and 698 patients on Sunday, as reported on Monday.
As of midnight Monday, a total of 10,265 people were receiving Covid-19 treatment (down from 11,483 the previous day), including 6,201 in hospitals (down from 7,129). Of the remainder, 74 were in field hospitals/hospitel facilities (down from 104) and 3,987 in home/community isolation (down from 4,247).
Of those in hospitals, 660 were seriously ill with lung inflammation (down from 678) and 338 dependent on ventilators (down from 344).
As of Tuesday the daily averages over a 14-day period were - 1,442 new patients, down from 1,776 as of Aug 31 figures; 660 seriously ill patients, down from 777; 338 dependent on ventilators, down from 384; and 21 coronavirus-related deaths, down from 28.
The 24-hour period also saw 1,827 patients discharged from hospitals after recovering.
Among 619 new Covid-19 patients over the past 24 hours, there were 616 cases in the general population and three among prison inmates.
The 10 people who died were aged from 25 to 89 years.
Bangkok logged two more deaths. None were reported in adjacent provinces.
Other central plains provinces further from the capital reported two deaths, in Ayutthaya and Uthai Thani.
The North reported no new coronavirus-related deaths.
The Northeast had five - two in Sakon Nakhon and one each in Nakhon Ratchasima, Khon Kaen and Loei.
The South had one more death, in Surat Thani.
Since the pandemic started in early 2020, there have been 4,668,863 Covid-19 cases, including 2,445,428 this year, with 4,626,034 complete recoveries to date.
The accumulated death toll stood at 32,564 since the beginning of the pandemic, including 10,866 so far this year.
Global Covid-19 cases rose by 347,186 in 24 hours to 614.22 million. The worldwide death toll went up by 835 to 6.52 million.
The United States had the most cases at 97.16 million, up 24,818, and the most deaths at 1.08 million, up 92.
