There were 13 more Covid-19 fatalities and 1,125 new patients admitted to hospitals on Wednesday, the Ministry of Public Health reported on Thursday.
This compared with 14 coronavirus-related fatalities and 1,321 patients on Tuesday, as reported on Wednesday.
As of midnight Wednesday, a total of 10,409 people were receiving Covid-19 treatment (up from 10,321 the previous day), including 6,172 in hospitals (up from 6,113). Of the remainder, 76 were in field hospitals/hospitel facilities (down from 81) and 4,158 in home/community isolation (up from 4,124).
Of those in hospitals, 674 were seriously ill with lung inflammation (up from 655) and 353 dependent on ventilators (up from 344).
As of Thursday, the daily averages over a 14-day period were - 1,313 new patients, down from 1,761 as of Sept 2 figures; 674 seriously ill patients, down from 736; 353 dependent on ventilators, down from 357; and 19 coronavirus-related deaths, down from 27.
The 24-hour period also saw 1,024 patients discharged from hospitals after recovering.
The 1,125 new patients were all local cases.
The 13 people who died were aged from 30 to 88 years.
Bangkok logged no new deaths while there five in the adjacent provinces of Samut Prakan (3), Pathum Thani (1) and Nakhon Pathom (1).
Other central plains provinces further from the capital reported three new deaths - two in Trat and one in Chon Buri.
The North reported one new coronavirus-related death, in Sukhothai.
The Northeast had four new fatalities - in Chaiyaphum (2), Nakhon Ratchasima (1) and Si Sa Ket (1).
The South reported no deaths.
Since the pandemic started in early 2020, there have been 4,671,309 Covid-19 cases, including 2,447,874 this year, with 4,628,309 complete recoveries to date.
The accumulated death toll stood at 32,591 since the beginning of the pandemic, including 10,893 so far this year.
Global Covid-19 cases rose by 520,969 in 24 hours to 615.39 million. The worldwide death toll went up by 1,466 to 6.52 million.
The United States had the most cases at 97.34 million, up 55,398, and the most deaths at 1.08 million, up 314.
