Zoe Saldana to spend more time with her kids after Oscar win

Zoe Saldana is going to spend more time at home after her Oscar win

Zoe Saldana is pleased awards season is over so she can spend more time with her children.

The 46-year-old actress – who has twins Cy and Bowie, 10, and eight-year-old Zen with husband Marco Perego – has been a regular fixture on the red carpet in recent months thanks to her work on ‘Emilia Perez’ but she’s looking forward to getting back to everyday life and being able to take her kids to school.

Speaking on the red carpet at Los Angeles’ Dolby Theater ahead of Sunday’s (02.03.25) ceremony – at which she picked up the Best Actress in a Supporting Role award - she told E! News: "I would like to take my kids to school and pick them up.

“And I would want them to finish this school year with their mama by their side because they are so resilient, and they have been backing me up along with my husband this entire campaign.

"But I miss my children like I miss air, like I miss water, and I just can't wait to come to school.”

Zoe joked her kids had set some limits when it came to her “glamorous” red carpet wear.

Asked what they made of her looks, she quipped: "They like it, as long as — like Bowie says — as long as my belly isn't out."

Last month, Zoe was honoured with the American Riviera Award for outstanding achievement in American film at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival and was joined at the ceremony by all three of her sons.

The ‘Avatar’ actress recently revealed she has been “trying” to encourage her sons to dance because of the long-term mental health benefits.

She told W magazine: "I'm trying. I'm not going to give up. Studies have shown that it is so therapeutic for men to take any form of dance at a very early age or throughout their lives because they carry so much tension and emotion.

"At least my twins are tapping. My younger one, he couldn't give a s*** who is dancing. He wants to be Cristiano Ronaldo; he wants to be Lionel Messi.

"But my twins are very much like, 'Yo, girls are in there? They're dancing hip-hop?' And they'll dance."
