Actress, style star, rockstar royalty, writer, and soon-to-be director Zoë Kravitz is in her renaissance era right now. The trailer for her new movie, Blink Twice — a genre thriller that marks her directorial debut and stars her real-life love Channing Tatum, has us counting down the days until its August 23 release. Kravitz is now engaged to Tatum, whom she met back in 2021 during casting for the movie, and has become close to his 10-year-old, Everly whom he shares with ex Jenna Dewan.
The highly anticipated film which is about a cocktail waitress from LA who catches the eye of a tech billionaire (Tatum) at a fundraising gala and he invites her to join him on his private island for a dream vacay—was previously entitled Pussy Island. And it appears Kravitz is out to send a message, perhaps even to convicted sexual predator Harvey Weinstein.
"As a woman in general and a woman in this industry, I've experienced some pretty wild behavior from the opposite sex. The [original] title was kind of a joke at first, this place where people would go, bring women, party, and hang out. The story evolved into something else, but the title wound up having multiple meanings," Kravitz said in an interview with Deadline in 2021. "And it alludes to this time and place we claim to not be in anymore, in terms of sexual politics. People are evolving and changing but there is still a bad taste in a lot of people's mouths from past behavior."
Then came her epic speech to honor (or rather roast) her rockstar dad Lenny Kravitz during his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony. "I've seen your incredible dedication to your art. But mostly, I've seen through your shirts. According to my dad, if it doesn't expose your nipples, it's not a shirt," she said while joking about his obsession with netted shirts.
And well, you can see why everyone is just a little obsessed with the inimitable Zoë Kravitz. Ahead we celebrate her best red carpet moments.
Zoë Kravitz: That Met Gala Moment
The "Batman" star is also an in-demand fashion muse with campaigns for designers like Balenciaga, Tiffany & Co. and Saint Laurent under her belt. As for her own style, the 35-year-old actress has developed a reputation for her risk-taking, yet innate taste that embraces sultry silhouettes like sheer and body-conscious dresses, plunging shirts, and plenty of cutout detailing. A departure from her go-to baggy jeans and cardigans during her formative years, Kravitz has produced many groundbreaking style moments, especially on the red carpet. Who could forget when she conquered the 2021 Met Gala carpet in this bejeweled mesh Saint Laurent dress which served as a jaw-dropping precursor to her ambassadorship for the French luxury house and a sartorial ode to her rockstar father—maybe mesh runs in the family?
