Zoe Ball had to step away from her BBC Radio 2 post after contracting covid.
The presenter has long headed up her own early morning talk show but was absent from her post today following health issues. Airing between 6:30 am and 9:30 am, fans tuning in were met with former Radio 1 DJ Vernon Kay instead.

"But good news is ya man @vernonkay is looking after y’all @BBCRadio2. Back soon." Vernon has stepped in to cover Zoe's back on numerous occasions throughout the years but sent a message of his own to update fans on the change.
He said: "Couple of mornings on @BBCRadio2 coming up! Get well quickly @ZoeTheBall 5am wake up’s play havoc with the eye bags!! See you tomorrow from 6.30AM."
Vernon hosted his own BBC Radio 1 show between 2004 and 2012 and presented his own show on Radio X between 2015 and 2017. Zoe stepped onto the Radio 2 scene back in 2019 to take over for Chris Evans following his departure.
Long-time listeners and celebrity pals sent their sympathies to Zoe including Louise Redknapp who said: "Hope you’re ok lovely." A fan added: "Really will miss you get well soon. Love Vernon though as well… Proper northern legend."
