Zoe Ball forced to pull out of Coronation concert after singer was also forced to cancel

BBC Radio 2 host Zoe Ball has been forced to pull out of covering the Coronation concert at the last minute. The star had been sue to host BBC Radio 2's coverage of the coronation concert taking place on Sunday evening as part of the King's Coronation weekend celebrations.

But Zoe tweeted the news on Sunday morning as she told her followers: "absolutely gutted… the sickness bug has got me". She said Dermot O'Leary and Scott Mills would be covering the gig instead.

It comes just a week after she spoke about her excitement about being involved with the historic event, the Mirror reports.

She added: "was meant to be heading to Windsor Castle for the #coronationconcert on @BBCRadio2 later".

Zoe then signed her tweet off with: "I'm heading back to bed" followed by a crown emoji and red heart emoji. Zoe isn't the only star who has been forced to pull out of the show as Freya Ridings has also pulled out of the Coronation Concert due to being unwell, according to reports.

Singer-songwriter Freya, 29, was set to take to the Windsor Castle stage on Sunday as part of this weekend's celebrations, as King Charles III and Queen Camilla are crowned.

Well-wishes rushed to send Zoe their best wishes. One wrote: "@ZoeTheBall so sorry you won’t be there! I will take lots of pictures of @takethat and tag you! Hope you feel better soon x".

Another added: "Oh noooo Zoe Hope you feel better soon. Sending you love".

"So sorry to hear you are poorly I was so looking forward to seeing you tonight at the concert. Get Well Soon x," a third added.

Nottingham musician Jerub will also be performing in the show, along with the likes of Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Take That.
