Former Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has characteristically claimed that the attraction of the top tier of French football has decreased since he left Paris Saint-Germain in 2016.
The Swede left PSG to join United in July 2016, joining the club on a free transfer. Thirty-four-years-old at the time, the striker was reunited with Jose Mourinho, with whom he had worked at Inter Milan.
He enjoyed a stellar first season at United, scoring 28 goals and registering ten assists in all competitions. Ibrahimovic, however, did not see through his second season in M16, seeing his contract terminated in March 2018, allowing him to join LA Galaxy.

But more than six years since he left PSG to test himself in the Premier League, Ibrahimovic has criticised the league that he scored an impressive 113 goals in just 122 games in, suggesting that it has nothing to offer except for the dynamic trio of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, all of whom play for PSG. The Parisians have dominated Ligue 1 over the last decade, winning eight of the last ten league titles.
"Since I left France, everything is going down, they have nothing to talk about anymore in France," Ibrahimovic told Canal+. "France needs me, I don't need France.
"Even if you have Mbappe, Neymar, Messi, it doesn't help you, because you don't have God."
