Zinedine Zidane and Luis Enrique Chelsea update emerges amid Todd Boehly's Graham Potter stance

Graham Potter's job security at Chelsea has taken a major hit in the past 12 days. Last weekend's defeat to Tottenham was the latest disappointing performance in a series of poor outings by Potter's men.

The Blues have now only won one of their last 11 matches in all competitions. Their hopes of securing another campaign in the UEFA Champions League seem all but over - they are closer to relegation than the top four - and face an early exit of the European competition after losing 1-0 in the first leg against Borussia Dortmund.

football.london understands that despite the increasing pressure, Potter does retain the support of Todd Boehly and the board. However, there remains serious concerns amongst the fanbase ahead of a crucial period of the season.

It had been reported the upcoming fixtures against Leeds United and Dortmund will be crucial for Potter and his future in west London. And whilst some reports are suggesting that Boehly will hand Potter more time to turn around the club's fortunes, candidates to replace the former Brighton boss continued to be linked.

According to Spanish outlet Sport, Luis Enrique and Zinedine Zidane are both 'in the running' to replace Potter, should the decision be made to part ways. Enrique recently departed his role as manager of the Spain national team after they crashed out in the last 16 of the World Cup.

He enjoyed a successful period during his time at Barcelona, winning two La Liga titles, the Champions League and three Copa del Rey trophies.

Zidane, who has been linked with most big jobs, has been left out of work since leaving Real Madrid in 2021. If reports are to be believed, the Frenchman was said to be waiting for the France national team role to become available after the World Cup. However, Didier Deschamps has accepted an offer to extend his contract in charge of Les Bleus.

Both managers would cost Boehly zero in compensation fees due to their current circumstances. However, the U.S billionaire faces a tough decision as both have been linked with the Brazil job in the past.
