Zinchenko, Tomiyasu, Elneny: Arsenal injury news and return dates after Chelsea victory

Mikel Arteta's Arsenal reclaimed their spot at the top of the Premier League table following an excellent performance and victory over Chelsea in a London derby at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

While securing their seventh Premier League clean sheet of the season, the Gunners put in an impressive attacking display despite the score line, with Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka both going close, with Chelsea barely able to lay a glove on Aaron Ramsdale's goal.

The victory saw the Gunners go back above Manchester City in the table, after their late win over Fulham on Saturday, placing them in a great position with just one league game to go until the World Cup break.

Arsenal have been rather fortunate over the last week in regards to welcoming back players from injury especially after Bukayo Saka's knock picked up against Nottingham Forest last weekend was deemed not serious, while the status of Takehiro Tomiyasu is currently up in the air.

With all that in mind, let's take a look at the latest on injuries in the Arsenal squad following their derby win over Chelsea.

Oleksandr Zinchenko

The versatile Ukrainian was perhaps a surprising inclusion in the starting 11 despite Tomiyasu's possible injury and Kieran Tierney coming off the back of a great Europa League performance on Thursday night where he scored the game-winning goal.

Nonetheless, Zinchenko started and put in a brilliant performance especially considering it was his first action since the north London derby on October 1.

He was replaced by Tierney with 12 minutes of normal time remaining but he didn't seem in any discomfort and was perhaps just struggling as the game progressed.

Expected return date: Available for Brighton (H) Nov 9

Takehiro Tomiyasu

After pulling up in the final knockings of Arsenal's win over Zurich on Thursday, Takehiro Tomiyasu was absent from the Gunners matchday squad on Sunday.

Mikel Arteta confirmed at the time that they just did not want to take any risks and would asses him over the following 24/48 hours and it seems as though the prognosis is not good.

Judging by the Japanese international's frustration at the time where he lifted his shirt over his face, it's unlikely he'll feature for the Gunners before the World Cup.

Expected return date: Unknown

Mohamed Elneny

The Egyptian midfielder made his return to the Arsenal team from the start in Thursday's 1-0 win in the Europa League before he was removed just beyond the hour mark.

After being absent for over two months, Arteta is likely just easing Elneny back into action and he was able to get a runout for the final few minutes, helping Arsenal see out an impressive result in west London.

Expected return date: Available for Brighton (H) Nov 9
