Zendaya is making headlines with her latest project, the upcoming movie 'Challengers,' in which she not only stars but also serves as a producer. According to a report from Variety, Zendaya earned $10 million for her role in the film, which is set to hit theaters this Friday, April 26.

'Challengers' is not your typical tennis movie, as Zendaya revealed in an interview with Variety. The film uses tennis as a backdrop to explore deeper themes such as power and codependency. Zendaya plays the main character, Tashi Duncan, a former tennis prodigy caught in a love triangle with her husband Art Donaldson and ex Patrick Zweig.

Directed by Luca Guadagnino, 'Challengers' wrapped filming nearly two years ago but faced delays due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike. Despite the setbacks, the movie is generating significant buzz, with a reported budget of $55 million.

The film is projected to gross between $12 and $15 million in its opening weekend, making it the standout release on the schedule. Zendaya expressed her excitement for the role, noting that it allowed her to step out of her comfort zone and portray a more mature character.

While on a press tour for 'Challengers,' Zendaya has been tight-lipped about the potential for a third season of 'Euphoria,' emphasizing her focus on the current project. She shared her newfound appreciation for tennis, admitting that she was not a tennis enthusiast before taking on the role.

Zendaya's dedication to the film is evident as she immerses herself in the world of tennis, studying matches and players to prepare for her role. With the movie's release just around the corner, fans are eagerly anticipating Zendaya's performance in this unique and thought-provoking film.
