Tom Holland has been gifted one of the loveliest birthday presents he could wish for, with his girlfriend Zendaya making their relationship 'official' on Instagram.
The 26-year-old star of Spider-Man: No Way Home has been close to his co-star Zendaya, 25, for a few years but they have now confirmed they are the "happiest" couple.
Zendaya posted a black and white photo of them both on Instagram as they embraced each other.
In a gushing tribute, she wrote about her and Tom, along with a heart symbol: "Happiest of birthdays to the one who makes me the happiest."
The delightful post quickly gained the attention of their fans, who rushed to praise the couple.
Among those who shared their thoughts were Tom and Zendaya's celebrity friends, Naomi Campbell and Olivia Wilde.
It has taken a while for the Instagram 'confirmation' after the couple confirmed their relationship last July, when photos of the pair kissing emerged.
There had been months of speculation after the pair became close friends in 2017, despite being in relationships with other people.
In 2020, Zendaya dated Euphoria co-star Jacob Elordi, while Tom was rumoured to be dating his friend Olivia Bolton.
A source told Us Weekly that Tom and Zendaya became close friends before they turned their relationship into something romantic.
They said: "Zendaya and Tom started off as really great friends and stayed that way for a long while before things turned romantic."
The source added: "[They] work really well together because he makes her laugh and she really helps guide him through the world of celebrity."
It is thought that Zendaya met Tom for the first time when the were cast together on Spider-Man: Homecoming, in 2016.
