If you played Breath of the Wild, you’ll be familiar with having to scavenge weapons to ensure you’ve always got the most powerful tools. However, things are slightly different in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
While you’ll still need to have a good stock of weapons, if you want to get the most out of them, you’ll need to use the new Fuse ability to enhance them. We’ll take you through how to Fuse items and weapons to create powerful new tools.
If you want to see all there is to see in this huge game, then check out our Tears of the Kingdom tips, our guide for where to find the Paraglider, or all Skyview Tower locations.
Find a weapon
Like the previous game, step one is to build an arsenal of gear. You can find them in chests in enemy camps, hidden in caves, or in the hands of enemies out in the world. It doesn’t especially matter how powerful they are off the bat, as most of the weapons you find will be middling at best.
Gather monster materials
Slaying monsters will get you materials that are used for a variety of things, but for our purposes, they can all be used to fuse weapons together, increasing their attacking power.
Hold the goods
Go into your inventory and you’ll be able to sort your monster materials by Fuse attack level. Pick out your most powerful items and hold them in your hands depending on how many weapons you want to Fuse.
Drop and Fuse
Drop all the stuff on the floor and pull out a weapon you want to Fuse (it can’t already have a Fuse effect on it). Now use the Fuse power to attach one of the materials you dropped, this will instantly increase its attacking power. You can repeat this process until you run out of weapons or materials.
There are also some weapons and materials that have special synergy together. Fusing two such items will give you an even bigger attack boost than normal, so keep an eye out for that.
