Zayn Malik says daughter Khai has brought ‘colour’ to his life in first interview in 6 years

Zayn Malik has shared that his two-year-old daughter has brought “colour” back into his life.

The former One Direction star shares Khai with ex-girlfriend Gigi Hadid, 28, who he split from in October 2021.

Giving his first interview in six years, the 30-year-old revealed how fatherhood has impacted him and the decisions he makes for the better.

The Bradford native said of the little one: “Since I’ve had my daughter the main thing in my life is trying to be a good example to her.

Malik opens up about fatherhood on the podcast out Wednesday, July 12 (Instagram/Call Her Daddy podcast)

“That’s why I’m even doing this interview.”

Speaking on the Call Her Daddy podcast, he added: “I used to get a lot of anxiety around doing a conversation like this but I want her to be able to look at me and say, ‘My dad’s doing this’.”

“I keep being told I’m telling dad jokes and I’m leaning into it, it’s okay, it’s cool.”

He continued: “People just look at me like I’m a weirdo and I’m like, ‘Well, I’m a dad now so I’m allowed to tell these jokes!’

“I think we all get to a certain point in adult life where everything sort of seems vague and grey and boring and she’s brought that colour back to my life for me.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Malik discussed the impact fame had on him after he joined One Direction, claiming that the group “were so overexposed”.

His chat comes after the singer teased brand new music.

Last month, he wiped his Instagram account before posting a video of himself revving a motorcycle engine and closing a helmet visor.
