Zayn Malik brushes off Liam Payne's jibes as he plugs eyewear collab and art merch

Zayn Malik has promoted a limited edition piece of eyewear and new art merchandise amid comments made about him recently by his former bandmate Liam Payne this week.

The singer, 29, had been a topic of conversation on an episode of the Impaulsive podcast earlier this week which featured fellow One Direction alum Liam, 28, as a guest.

Liam spoke about his experience in the band with podcast host Logan Paul, 27, and commented in the episode that he dislikes his former bandmate Zayn for "many reasons".

And whilst Zayn has yet to publicly address the situation, he appeared to brush it off by promoting two new business ventures on his official Instagram account this afternoon.

He first announced an upcoming limited edition eyewear frame in collaboration with brand Arnette - with him already having his own range of sunglasses and glasses with them.

The musician teased on his Instagram Story earlier though that a "limited edition frame" will be added to the Zayn x Arnette range soon, teasing it's a "level up" opportunity.

Zayn promoted the news with a retro-inspired video game advertisement, with him offering fans the chance to sign up to be the first to hear about the release.

And shortly after announcing the new frame, the singer shared news of another project - having put together a limited edition merchandise collection, Paynt by Zayn.

He said in a post on Instagram this afternoon: "Excited to share my first ever limited edition merchandise collection that I designed from my own paintings and artwork."

The collection includes clothing and other items featuring his art, including t-shirts, hoodies and hats as well as a backpack that's been designed with doodles by Zayn.

Such promotion comes following former bandmate Liam saying: "There's many reasons why I dislike Zayn and there's many reasons why I'll always, always be on his side."

He said on the Impaulsive podcast that Zayn had a "different upbringing" to himself, with him suggesting on it that his experience had influenced the man that he has become.

Liam added: "You can always look at the man for where he is and say, 'Oh yeah, whatever, that guy’s a d***'." He however encouraged understanding "what he's been through".

He said that whilst he doesn't "agree with any of [Zayn's] actions" and "can't commend some of the things" he's done, he can "understand" and hopes he is open to receiving help.

The Mirror approached reps of Zayn for comment.
