Zara shoppers 'very disturbed' by video of 'creepy' £30 platform heels

Zara shoppers were in stitches after spotting a photo of its pink platform heels on social media.

The high street retailer is phenomenally popular, particularly in Liverpool's city centre with queues to get in its stores often stretching around buildings.

Zara boasts a loyal following of fashion fans, keen to snap up its latest products.

Parody Instagram account Awkward Zara has rapidly built thousands of followers after mocking some of brand's quirkier outfits, as well as some of its campaign and website photos.

Zara fans are familiar with the brand's aesthetic, with models posing on its website at unusual angles more commonly associated with magazine editorials, while product shots are often modelled on inanimate objects like teddy bears, fruit and more.

This can sometimes make it hard for shoppers to figure out how to style some items - with @awkwardzara delighting its growing social media presence by pointing out the funny side.

The comedic account recently shared a video from the retailer's website showing its high heel platform sandals, which come in green and leopard print. The sandals, which cost £29.99, feature a block heel, square toe and buckled ankle strap fastening.

The editorial style video shows one of the shoes in green, contorting and bouncing around.

Captioning the image, @awkwardzara joked: "if you feel disturbed by anything you’ve seen today, please call the international shoe abuse hotline on 0800 430 3248* to report an anonymous tip *this is not NOT Zara’s customer service number…"

Amused followers and Zara fans alike took to the comments section to share their thoughts.

Magdalena said: "Consider me very disturbed. The line will be ringing off the hook!"

Agnese said: "It reminds me of that clip from The Ring movie. Same creepy nonsense vibes."

Minnie said: "That green shoe is possessed. Quick get the exorcist".

Leeann commented: "what is going on".

Camilla said: "I literally have no idea what I am looking at".

Katherine said: "What is going on?"

Beth added: "I’m all for creativity but I don’t want to feel anxiety when shoe shopping, come on now @zara ".

Other shoppers simply posted crying laughing emojis while some tagged their friends to direct them to the post.
