Zara fans will undoubtedly be already aware that the retailer isn't one to shy away from the slightly bizarre and abstract when it comes to its signature aesthetic photography. In the past, some clothing and accessories have been snapped alongside inanimate objects such as teddy bears and food.
However, it would seem its latest offering has left shoppers equal parts amused and disturbed. Some have even gone on to say that the brand has now "lost the plot" with its promotional images for a recently reduced long dress - standing at just £9.99 online, a whopping £70 less than its original price of £79.99.
It comes after fans spotted an unusual image for the brand's long printed green dress on it's website. The image was shared on parody Instagram account Awkward Zara - which boasts of 67k followers and often posts pictures of the retailer that tend to poke fun at some of its more eccentric campaigns and fashion imagery.

Owner of the account made a tongue-and-cheek post about the way the model was holding the gown. Standing in front of a swimming pool, surrounded by tropical plants, the woman clutches the bottom of the dress in her hands over her thighs.
In a look that seemingly is meant to appear as though the model has just come out of the pool with her damp frock, it instead looks - to numerous fans - as though the model is urinating. A stream of water can be seen falling from her dress, which due to the positioning, could appear like it is coming from between her legs.
Referring to this in the caption, author of Awkward Zara jokingly wrote: "Hey look, if you gotta go, you gotta go." The post quickly captured the attention of many, with thousands liking the post and hundreds commenting.
Poking fun at the large discount, Jesserinanne quipped: "No wonder it’s so heavily discounted," with a laughing face emoji. Another shopper, Irina.garrett, declared: "Zara's lost the plot."
Phillipaikhile admitted: "I was about to be like "this picture's not even bad", but then." Laurie_ehm typed: "Laughing so hard I’m also standing near the pool peeing myself."
Kirstietaylor123 wrote: "That's the face of someone who knows they are going to end up on Awkwardzara." Janinernorman joked: "Zara have really gone potty. This takes this p**s!"
Foodie_nikki said: "This is absolutely hilarious and disturbing." Amanda.serif laughed: "Perfect for a nature wee though….." Fallen.leaf.creative's put: "I am laughing way to hard at this." Emmabluemink stated: "A p***ing dress!"
On Zara's website, a description for the dress reads: "Long dress featuring a slot collar with adjustable ties. Sleeves falling below the elbow with elastic trim. Metallic thread appliqué detail. This product has a larger fit than usual."
It comes in sizes extra small, small, medium, large, extra large and extra extra large. It's original price was £79.99, but it has now been reduced down 87 per cent to just £9.99. To find your nearest Zara store, click here.
