Zara shoppers were left bemused at the brand's latest styling of an orange cut-out bikini after spotting it on their website.
High street favourite Zara is popular among the fashion-conscious crowd, however it has become known for unusual campaign shots and modelling poses online.
A parody account - Awkward Zara - was set up on Instagram in response, where it regularly mocks the brand's more unique outfits with tongue-in-cheek posts.
It has since accumulated more than 66,000 followers and pokes fun at models pretending to bite into accessories, objects such as teddy bears being used in photographs of shoes, along with unconventional model poses, reports Liverpool Echo.
"The definitive archive of every single weird thing found on the Zara website, from poses to arm warmers," its bio says.
In one of its latest posts, the comedic account shared a photo of Zara's Cut-Out Bikini Top in orange.
The top costs £19.99 and features cut-out detailing on the front, with adjustable straps. In the image, it has been styled over the top of a sleeveless tiger-print jumper and is twisted at an angle.
Captioning the image, @awkwardzara joked: "When you’re the only kid with conservative parents at the pool party".
Followers and Zara fans alike took to the comments section to share their thoughts on the image, with others offering their own version of the caption.
One said: "I worry that stringy bikinis will get twisted but seeing this advert has really put my mind at rest, so thanks Zara, I'll [defo be] buying now". Hilary said: "One word - why?"
Minnie quipped: "When you're scared to get sunburn at the beach." Helen said: "When you’re trying to style out the fact that you got your bikini top in such a knot you’ve had it on since Summer 2020."
Clare commented: "it looks like she’s ripped it putting it on? And just imagine the tan lines without the jumper! I can sort of see the thinking behind this outfit now".
Jo said: "what is this…" Lizzie replied: "it’s criminal Jo. That’s what it is".
Caley said: "what the hell". Jace added: "hhahahahahhaha".
Other shoppers simply posted crying laughing emojis while some tagged their friends to direct them to the post.
