Fashionistas are calling a handbag being sold in Zara, a cheaper version of a high end designer bag. One TikTok user likened the design of the £29.99 canvas mini city bag to a £610 'mini tote' version by a well-known brand, calling it a dupe.
Zara is Nottingham high street favourite. The Spanish fashion chain has a store on the corner of High Street and Pelham Street in the city centre but also sells online.
The retailer is currently selling a bag that some claim looks just like ones sold by designer brand Chloe - but for around £580 less. Zara's website describes the £29.99 version as a Canvas Mini City Bag with a top handle and detachable and adjustable crossbody shoulder strap. It measures 16 x 22 x 7.5 cm. / 6.2 x 8.6.

Shoppers have pitched the bag against the luxury brand, according to a report by Liverpool Echo, which said that the comparison had been shared on TikTok by user @fashionfoodtrends. The video, titled “Zara bag - Chloe dupe” showed the Zara bag along with its price ticket, in two colourways. The first with a tan strap and the second with black strap and detailing.
The bag shown, according to the report, looks very similar to Chloe’s Mini Woody Tote Bag , which features a square design and linen canvas material with calfskin strips. Both bags feature a similar shape and canvas material, with contrast-coloured details and top handle. They both also feature a detachable and adjustable crossbody shoulder strap. However, Zara’s version obviously doesn’t have the signature Chloe logo ribbon.
The Chloe Mini Woody Tote bag would usually set you back £610, which means you could save around £580 by opting for the Zara dupe.
