Zara announces Glasgow Fort expansion with huge new Scottish flagship store

Zara has announced the opening of a "new and improved" store at Glasgow Fort.

The shopping centre confirmed the store will open in 2023, after it was chosen by the clothing chain as its flagship Scottish location. Zara will relocate from its current location at Glasgow Fort to take a new 37,000 square foot store previously occupied by Topshop and Topman.

The upgraded two-storey unit will feature an expanded range of products across women's, men's, children's and home departments. Work on the new store has already begun, and it is expected to open late next year. In the meantime, the current Zara will continue trading.

Centre director at Glasgow Fort Phil Goodman said: “We are thrilled to be able to share this news and we know our visitors will be just as excited as we are.

"Our Zara store is extremely popular and we’re proud that they have chosen Glasgow Fort to go even bigger and better, making it one of the flagship stores for the whole of the UK.

“As well as bringing a great new range to Glasgow, it will also bring with it even more job opportunities for the local area, and we can’t wait to see it come together next year.”

Zara’s new store will add to Glasgow Fort’s existing line up of popular fashion brands, which includes Mango, Tessuti, Next and River Island.

Glasgow Fort is open from 10am to 10pm on weekdays, 9am to 7pm on Saturdays, and 10am to 6pm on Sundays. More information can be found here.
