Zan Vipotnik has Celtic transfer interest 'confirmed' but Rangers rumours squashed amid agent's 'lot of clubs' clue

Zan Vipotnik is a Celtic transfer 'target' as Maribor name their price for the in-form striker.

The Hoops already have an array of attacking weapons from the lethal award-winner Kyogo to deputy man Oh, alongside wingers such as Jota, Liel Abada and Daizen Maeda. But Ange Postecoglou appears keen to bolster his forward line and has set his sights on the man who has scored 19 goals in 32 league games for the Slovenian giants.

They have finished third in their domestic league and next season will play in the Europa Conference League. The 21-year-old is on a 'list of targets' according to Football Scotland and "their interest has been registered with his agent but it is still at a very early stage". It is also claimed that Maribor will demand around £3.5m for the highly-rated 21-year-old who is also said to be wanted by Croatian outfit Dinamo Zagreb.

The rumour mill had suggested that Rangers could be on the case. But the report states that this is not the situation, despite lingering rumours. Vipotnik’s agent, Sasa Zupan, said: "Yes, there is interest from Celtic for a summer transfer. But there a lot of clubs who want to sign Zan when the window opens."
