Zack Snyder Reveals Meeting With Leonardo Dicaprio For Lex Luthor

Leonardo DiCaprio looks confident.

Zack Snyder recently shared some intriguing insights during a podcast appearance, shedding light on his discussions with top actors for the role of Lex Luthor in 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.' While Jesse Eisenberg ultimately portrayed the character, Snyder revealed that he had conversations with both Leonardo DiCaprio and Adam Driver about the role.

According to Snyder, DiCaprio had some compelling ideas during their meeting but ultimately decided against taking on the role. Interestingly, DiCaprio suggested the idea of Superman fighting the Justice League at some point, a concept that Snyder found intriguing and later incorporated into his DC Universe plans.

DiCaprio's potential involvement in a superhero movie may surprise some fans, given his past advice to actor Timothée Chalamet to avoid such roles. Chalamet, who recently starred in 'Dune: Part Two,' mentioned that he follows DiCaprio's advice but remains open to superhero projects if the script and director are compelling.

Snyder also reflected on the controversy surrounding 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,' particularly the divisive moment when Batman and Superman bond over their mothers sharing the same name, Martha. Despite the backlash, Snyder defended the emotional connection between the characters, emphasizing the human element of the scene.
