Just one week after his own engagement, Washington Commanders wide receiver Dax Milne, who was college teammates at BYU with Denver Broncos quarterback Zach Wilson, announced his betrothal to Wilson's ex-girlfriend, Abbey Gile. The engagement was revealed on social media with a post showing Milne proposing to Gile on the beach, and she joyfully accepted, displaying her ring for the camera.
Wilson, on the other hand, recently announced his engagement to model girlfriend Nicolette Dellanno during a vacation in Italy. In his post, Wilson expressed his love and excitement for a lifetime with Dellanno, calling her his best friend and everything.
The relationship between Milne and Gile adds to the existing drama surrounding Wilson, as Gile and Wilson were previously together until 2022 when she moved on to Milne, who was not only Wilson's teammate but also his roommate at BYU. Gile faced criticism on social media for dating Milne, to which she responded by making controversial comments about Wilson.
Despite the public scrutiny, Wilson chose not to address the situation publicly, while Gile and Milne resorted to deleting and blocking comments on their social media posts to avoid further backlash from fans.
Wilson has since moved on to a new chapter with the Denver Broncos after a challenging period with the New York Jets, which ended in an offseason trade this year. He now has the opportunity to compete for the starting quarterback position at Mile High.
Meanwhile, Milne is gearing up to play the final year of his four-year rookie contract with the Commanders. The seventh-round pick in 2021, Milne faced setbacks last season due to a groin injury but has shown promise with 15 total catches for 120 yards and a touchdown over his first two seasons.
