Heading into their Sunday night contest against the Brooklyn Nets, the Chicago Bulls were reeling. They had lost three games in a row by 18 points, 14 points, and 13 points, respectively. Chicago needed a win in the worst way, and their game against Brooklyn started off promising with a 30-9 run. Then, the worst possible outcome occurred.
The Bulls blew the lead in dramatic fashion, eventually losing the game 118-109. In the process, they allowed 25 Nets three-pointers – the most-ever made in a game against the Bulls. So, technically, Chicago made history. It’s just not the type of history they were hoping to make when the season got underway.
With the loss, the Bulls moved to 5-13 on the season, and after the game, Chicago star Zach LaVine expressed his frustration. (H/t Julia Poe of the Chicago Tribune)
“It’s just frustrating,” LaVine said. “Nobody wants to be 5-13 or lose multiple games in a row. It doesn’t feel good. It didn’t feel like we would be at this point right now, but that’s our reality. So we’ve got to figure out a way to get out of that.”
The Bulls seem to be on course to blow up their roster by the deadline. And if they don’t, fans are going to start asking more questions. (More than they’re already asking now.)
