Zach LaVine underwent successful knee surgery, Bulls announce

Chicago Bulls All-Star Zach LaVine successfully underwent knee surgery on Tuesday. The team announced the arthroscopic procedure on LaVine’s left knee is complete and guard is recovering in Los Angeles. LaVine is expected to make a complete recovery, after initially injuring the knee back in January.

LaVine started in 67 games this year, his most as a pro. Alongside DeMar DeRozan and Lonzo Ball, the Bulls earned a surprising 46-36 regular season record. Health was a major concern for Chicago, however, and the Bulls exited the postseason in the first-round at the hands of the Milwaukee Bucks.

LaVine will become an unrestricted free agent this summer. Heading into the 22-23 season as healthy as possible is a big concern for the former UCLA Bruin.

“I have to go into the offseason and figure out how to get back to 100 percent, I played this year not at 100 percent. [I will] figure out the best plan, strategy to get my knee feeling back to normal,” LaVine said on a video call with reporters following the surgery.
